Rich Sullivan

I specialize in creating video content for media companies, non-profit organizations, and businesses large and small.

I’ve been writing, producing, directing, shooting and editing for over 25 years. I began in Boston producing local commercials, promos, and corporate videos. In 1996 I moved to New York and began an M.A program focused on Digital Media in the evenings while I spent days freelancing for a variety of production companies. I graduated in 1999 and took a staff position at Comedy Central, where I later became the Director of Video Production in the Digital Media Group, responsible for creating video content for the website and branded content.

I was nominated for Emmy Awards in 2009 and 2010 for the web series The Daily Show: Ask a Correspondent

I started my own business in 2010 and my clients have included The Brooklyn Botanic Garden, CBS Interactive/Inside Edition, Warner Music Group, IFC, Comedy Central, TV Land, Eye to Eye, Project Lyme, GRACE Communications Foundation, Medidata, Lazard Asset Management and a variety of small businesses, non-profits, and arts organizations.

I produce entire projects – from developing a concept to final post-production. For documentary-style productions, I generally handle the producing, shooting, and editing. For larger scale pieces, I partner with other production professionals. Recently, I've consulted with companies helping to develop content strategies and workflow, as well as providing media training.

I attended Oberlin College (B.A. in English) and The New School (M.A. in Media Studies.) My full resume and references can be viewed on Linkedin. I live in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn and in my free time I blog about and shoot live music at Brooklynlive.org.

I have a limited amount to pieces on my portfolio page, if you'd like to see more please get in touch, as I have dozens of more examples of videos for businesses, non-profit organizations, and media companies.
